CG PAF STREAMER AWARD 2016
The 2nd Air Division, through Major General Julius Cesar M Guillero AFP, Division Commander, received the Commander General, Philippine Air Force Streamer Awards as Division of the Year, and Tactical Group of the Year through Col Naldoza on 5 July 2016 at Clark Air Base, Pampanga.
The CG, PAF Streamer Awards are awarded to the best and most deserving PAF units categorized as Division, Wing (Tactical and Support), Group (Tactical and Support) and Squadron (Tactical and Support) for exemplary performance and successful accomplishment of missions during the ceremonies commemorating the PAF Anniversary.
The institution of service decorations and unit citations is a cherished custom and tradition in the military service. It has contributed to the attainment of high state of morale and efficiency among members of the Command. But most importantly, the forthright leadership for the commander, the concerted efforts and outstanding dedication of all the members of the unit orchestrated the success of the division.
SAR CHALLENGE 2016
A competition that test one’s knowledge and ability in performing PAF Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) Operations which require speed, skills, tactics and teamwork particularly in collapses structure search and rescue, boat operations, rope rescue, road accident rescue, and surface water search and rescue.
This Division ranked 3rd place out of nine (9) competitors on the said challenge. Likewise, the team also received special awards on: Best in Rubber Boat and Best in Road Vehicular Accident Rescue. The Deputy Commander, BGEN DINO C DIÑO AFP attended the Awarding Cerecmony held at Bulwagang Makulot, FAB, Lipa City last 23 June 2016.
Kadaugan sa Mactan 2017
The participation of seven (7) Officers and seventy three (70) EP from 2nd AD was in coordination with Tourism Office and LGU’s of Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
On or about 27 0615H April 2017, PAF Contingent composed of Military Host, Protocol Officer, CMO pers, W3, 560th ABW pers, Honor Guards, Firing Detail and the 560th ABW Band proceeded to Brgy Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City. Upon arrival thereat, the troops had one round practice in preparation for the floral offering ceremony in front of Lapu-Lapu Monument.
The activity started with a Holy Mass at 0700H followed by Flag Raising at 0800H and Flower Offering Ceremony at Datu Lapu-Lapu’s monument. At around 0900H, all VIPs and other guests proceeded to the stage near the re-enactment area for the program proper. Hon Paz C Radaza, City Mayor, acknowledged all the attendees during her welcome remarks. Hon Aileen C Radaza, 6th District Congresswoman of Lapu-Lapu City delivered an inspirational message and Hon Harry Don Radaza, City Councilor Lapu-Lapu City introduced Mr Pocholo Joselito D Paragas, TIEZA Chief Operating Officer, Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority, this year’s Guest of Honor, mentioned the importance of commemoration of the first battle won in the year 1521 by first Filipino hero. The highlights of the activity was the re-enactment of the famous “Battle of Mactan” with its main characters played by James Cesesna as Magellan, Rocco Nacino as Datu Lapu-Lapu and Kris Bernal as Princess Bulakna, the wife of Datu Lapu-Lapu. During the re-enactment of victory of Datu Lapu-Lapu, a flower drop was conducted by 208th THS.
